Harry S. Truman: "The Commoner" President

A true “man of the people,” Harry Truman was a farmer, a combat soldier, and a small businessman. With little formal education, his leadership qualities during World War I lead to his election as a county judge in Kansas City, then as a senator and vice president, where he vaulted to the presidency upon the death of FDR. Though unpopular while in office, he has since been recognized as one of America’s six greatest presidents.
