Florence: In the Footsteps of Dante

Dante Alighieri hasn’t walked the streets of Florence for more than 700 years. But the city is still haunted by its native son whom it sent into exile in 1302 and whose journey to hell gave literature one of its masterpieces (and also inspired a bestseller by Dan Brown). In this talk author and travel writer Margo Hammond takes a tour of all things Dante, from the monuments erected to honor the author of The Divine Comedy to a surprising number of medieval sites that remain unchanged since Dante was forced to leave them behind.
