The program begins when we meet at the hotel in Buenos Aires at 3pm (local, Buenos Aires time) on Monday, April 20, 2026, and the price includes almost everything to ensure you have a fabulous experience. Be sure your flight departs the U.S. on Sunday, April 19th.

This is an exclusive Eckerd College program with Eckerd staff accompanying the trip and professional guides in Argentina for the duration of our stay. We've also added six pre-departure, Zoom workshops exclusively for those registered for the trip to introduce you to Argentine culture. UCA staff will explore the rhythm, flavors, color, and passion of this incredible country in fun, interactive sessions!

Day 1: Tuesday, April 20 Welcome to Argentina
- Arrive: Check into hotel
- Late Afternoon: Orientation and neighborhood exploration together
- Evening: Welcome Group Dinner
- Meals: D
Day 2: Wednesday, April 21 Paris of LATAM
- Morning: Following Breakfast, travel with UCA staff to campus for a tour and our first lecture, Introduction to Argentina Politics, Economy and Culture
- Lunch on campus together
- Afternoon: Walking tour of Congreso Neighborhood and Corrientes Avenue followed by lecture on Business and Entrepreneurship
- Evening: Group Dinner
- Meals: B, L, D
Day 3: Thursday, April 22 Campo Argentino
- Morning: Depart together to an authentic, working Argentine ranch
- Lunch is a traditional Asado barbeque
- Afternoon: Lecture, Cowboy Life and the Pampas Region
- Late afternoon, we return to the hotel
- Evening: Dinner on your own
- Meals: B, L
Day 4: Friday, April 23 Tango and Passion!
- Morning: Walking tour along Avenida de Mayo, end at UCA for a lecture about the history of Tango and it's place in the society, followed by lessons
- Lecture Tango and Culture in Movement
- Lunch together
- Afternoon: Tour of Puerto Madero neighborhood and Kirchner Cultural Center
- Evening: Dinner together in a traditional tango hall
- Meals: B, L, D
Day 5: Saturday, April 24 Immigration and Art
- Morning: Learn how immigrants shaped the country and the impact on art
- Lecture Waves of Immigration in Argentina
- Late Morning: Visit to historic La Boca neighborhood and open street fair/market
- Lunch together at historic cafe
- Afternoon: tour of Benito Quinquela Martin Museum and Caminito to enjoy street performers and shopping
- Evening: Dinner together
- Meals: B, L, D
Day 6: Sunday, April 25 Excursion to Uruguay*
- Morning: Travel via ferry to the historic city, Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site
- Lunch in Colonia
- Late Afternoon: Return to hotel
- Evening: Dinner on own
- Meals: B, L
Day 7: Monday, April 26 Historic Buenos Aires
- Morning: Following breakfast, we visit Plaza de Mayo and Casa Rosada (Pink House) and learn about historic political movements
- Lunch together in the historic San Telmo Market
- Afternoon: Free for your own exploration
- Evening: Dinner together
- Meals: B, L, D
Day 8: Tuesday, April 27 Trip to the Tigre River Delta
- Morning: Depart by train together for a day visiting the historic Tigre Delta and its islands. Visit local cultural and crafts markets
- Lunch together in Tigre
- Late Afternoon: Return to hotel
- Evening: Free to enjoy on your own
- Meals: B, L
Day 9: Wednesday, April 28 Nature in Buenos Aires and Farewell
- Morning: Visit the Palermo neighborhood and explore the French-inspired Rose and Botanical Gardens (recently named one of the top botanical gardens in the world!), including a photo safari
- Lecture and photo class by a renowned landscape architect
- Lunch: Together at a fabulously quirky burger joint in Palermo
- Afternoon: Free time to explore the delightful Palermo neighborhood or other adventure of your own making
- Evening: We'll meet and go to UCA together for a closing session
- Dinner: Farewell dinner together in Puerto Madero
- Meals: B, L, D
Day 10: Thursday, April 29 Departure Day
- Morning: Upon check out, those who wish may leave their luggage and visit Palermo Gardens and the MALBA Museum with UCA staff or you may wish to enjoy the day separately
- Those departing for Iguazu Falls will meet and travel to EZE airport together
- Late Afternoon: Most flights to the United States depart late in the evening, so you have a full day of exploration available before heading to the airport
Day 11: Friday, April 30 Welcome Home!
- Arrive in the United States

NEW! Optional 3-Day Excursion to Iguazu Falls!
We're pleased to be able to provide an optional trip to Puerto Iguazu once our formal program ends. Those who wish to travel together to the Falls will depart Buenos Aires on April 29 and return on May 2, in time to catch a return flight to the U.S. or you may choose to stay on in Buenos Aires. This separate registration is $1,100 per person and includes:
- Round-trip airfare to/from Puerto Iguazu and Buenos Aires
- Airport transfers
- 3 nights' accommodations in the beautiful Hotel Saint George
- 3 breakfasts, 2 dinners
- Separate excursions to both the Argentina and Brazil sides of the falls with park guides
- A local guide traveling with us the entire time
- A tourist visa for Brazil

Language Immersion
If you wish to stay in Buenos Aires longer and take a conversational Spanish class at the college, UCA has arranged for an exclusive two or four-week immersive experience that includes taking classes in the mornings and participating in activities in the afternoons to enhance your language skills. International travel programs are only available to those affiliated with Eckerd College. If you are not currently an OLLI or ASPEC member or an Eckerd College Alumni, please add an OLLI membership to your cart, as well. Any level of membership is acceptable.

Refund Policy

Please note that the refund policy for travel is different from the regular OLLI course cancellation and refund policy. Refund requests must be made in writing by emailing Study Travel Manager Judy Tilton at tiltonjd@eckerd.edu
Requests received:
- 90 days or more before departure date — 100% refund
- 60 days before departure date — 50% refund
- 45 days before departure date — 25% refund
- <45 days before departure date — 0% refund
No refund will be issued for the following:
- If a participant fails to make their flight.
- If a participant leaves the program early.
All registrations canceled less than 90 days prior to departure will be assessed a $100 administrative fee.
