Forgotten Colonies: East and West Florida   

When you think of The Sunshine State, do you think of Cajuns and gumbo? No? Perhaps you should re-evaluate what you know of us. In most elementary and high school history classes, Florida seems like an afterthought to American history, but the state we now call Florida has served as a political ping pong ball since the Renaissance, earlier than any other settlement in the United States.
